We stayed there several times in the 1980s and &amp;#39;90s, and it appears that it hasn&amp;#39;t lost its shine. On about our third trip, we showed up on a Wednesday, when it was closed, but the owners recognized us -- and gave us a key to come and go as we pleased, until they re-opened on Thursday morning. We always got the same room, a two-bedroom suite. No TV or phone, but cool, smooth terrazzo floors and real windows with real shutters. The open hearth in the kitchen hasn&amp;#39;t changed a bit. And we were so taken with the Belvedere&amp;#39;s tortellini that when my wife inquired, the staff invited her to the back of the kitchen where the grandfather of the clan (the Bresanelli family?) showed her how to make it, gently slapping her wrist when she couldn&amp;#39;t keep up. It was a magic moment. If you have any more pictures, I&amp;#39;d love to see them.</content><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3022707338867272577/870617751345331945/comments/default/262072950675592202'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3022707338867272577/870617751345331945/comments/default/262072950675592202'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://www.curmudgeon.com/2009/01/envelope-free-curmudgeon-begins.html?showComment=1251109971120#c262072950675592202' title=''/><author><name>Georgiascribe</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/05734525594770724344</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><thr:in-reply-to xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' href='http://www.curmudgeon.com/2009/01/envelope-free-curmudgeon-begins.html' ref='tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3022707338867272577.post-870617751345331945' source='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3022707338867272577/posts/default/870617751345331945' type='text/html'/><gd:extendedProperty xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' name='blogger.itemClass' value='pid-1201610954'/></entry></feed>
